Another reading

Friday July 13th: we found another reading a few weeks ago, by dint of Googling "wedding readings" (whatever did we do before Google?!!): it's an extract from "The Prophet", by Khalil Gibran, who was a Lebanese/American poet who flourished around the turn of the twentieth century. He's apparently the third best-selling poet of all time (Shakespeare is number one) but I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of him before he appeared on my Google search.

Anyway ... I emailed the extract to Michael, to make sure it would be acceptable, and he emailed back almost immediately to say it was fine, and I thought it would be nice to ask Clo to read it, if she felt she could. Texted her to say I needed to ask her something, and saw her at the Auction of Promises this evening: apparently when she got my text, she thought she'd done something wrong ... !!!!! Anyway, she's happy to do it, she says; I'll take her down to the church some time to practise doing it (not the same as trying it at home in the living room!), and I've said if she has any doubts at all, even on the day, I'm sure somebody else will step in. I think she'll be fine, actually, even in a church full of people.
