Fowey, where we were on holiday when we decided to take the plunge. It's been a favourite holiday destination for some time, partly because the first floor apartment where we stay has the most amazing views across to Polruan, and partly because it's within such easy reach of all sorts of wonderful places to visit - St Michael's Mount, Lanhydrock House, The Lost Gardens of Heligan ...
St Dyfnog's Church, Llanrahaeadr, where we'll be married. There has been a church on this site since the sixth century; the oldest part of the existing church is the tower, dating from the thirteenth century. The church has a double nave, the northernmost of which is lit by a beautiful Jesse window, in front of which we will sign the register (the vestry being too small!) It has apparently been suggested that the window is far too grand for a simple country church, and may have come from Basingwerk Abbey, near Holywell. Nice to think, after all the Cistercian abbeys we've visited, that there may be Cistercian connections (however tenuous) with the church where the wedding will take place.
Brookhouse Mill, Denbigh: convenient for Denbigh, and close to St Dyfnog's, but we chose it principally because we know the people, so we know they'll do a splendid job for us, and the food will be excellent.
