Photography practice and Banns!

Sunday, August 12th: great weekend with Stan & Lyn! We went to look at St Dyfnog's (church and well), then Brookhouse, yesterday, and Stan asked loads of questions and took loads of pics (and this is before the actual day!!!) He is taking an enormous amount of trouble, which if I'd thought about it I'd have known he would do, but it was still really good of him. Time off, then, to go sight-seeing, so we did Denbigh town walls and a brief bit of Denbigh Castle, followed by a good deal of eating, drinking and making merry during the course of the evening. Well, why else does one have friends to stay.

Today was the first reading of the Banns; Lyn wanted to come with us, so the three of us stood there in a row, trying (in my case) not to feel too self-conscious about our full names being read out in a church full of people, and waiting (in Jules' case) for a forest of hands to go up when Michael came to the bit about anybody knowing of any reason etc, etc. Actually, I don't think I'd have noticed if there had been a forest of hands; I was far too busy staring at my feet! One down, two to go.

More time off for good behaviour this afternoon, which involved a wander round Valle Crucis Abbey, followed by a wander round Llangollen, mostly hanging over the bridge watching the steam engines and feeling suitably nostalgic, after which we parted company for Stan and Lyn to drive home to Carmarthen, and us to drive home to Denbigh. "See you in four weeks", they said.

Is it really that close??!!!
