Tuesday September 4: Tom called to say thanks, but he thought Debs would
need to rest after the journey from Kingston
and the rehearsal, which I can entirely understand. I do hope I’m not asking
too much of too many people.
Finished the designs from the Jesse window that I want to put on a couple of mugs for Michael as a “thankyou”, and printed the mugs – they’ve come out really well. I hope he likes them.
Last table tennis session this evening, at Y Morfa. Most people know now, and are offering very kind wishes for Friday. It’s all a bit overwhelming.
Rhian brought
the rose up this morning – it’s called Munstead Wood and is one of those lovely
old-fashioned ones that look like crushed tissue-paper, and has a wonderful
scent. She said she and Alun went round the garden centre sniffing all the
roses trying to decide which one to get, and probably got caught as suspicious
characters on the CCTV! I can’t help feeling that an awful lot of people
probably go round sniffing roses in order to reach a decision – I know I do! She also brought a watercolour she'd done of St Dyfnog's: when she sent me a text a few weeks back to say she'd been to look at the church, it was in fact to take a photo from which she could paint it - she was afraid she'd given the game away by telling me she'd been to look at the church, but I didn't have a clue! It is a beautiful present, and a truly wonderful memento of the church where we'll be married. I knew she painted, but this is very special indeed: thanks, Rhian.
